19 Things That Will Establish You For Real: Part 1

Very often, the things which disestablish people are often taken to be things that establish people. But the truth is that, the reverse is the case. Many things people are thinking will establish them are not the things that would establish them. The word establish in relation to the topic, means to make stable or firm; to fix immovably or firmly; to set (a thing) in a place and make it stable there; to settle; to confirm. Here, are somethings that will establish you for real which many people may not be aware of or assume to be ignorant about or which they tend to disregard:

1.     Diligence: Diligence is a conscientiousness in paying proper attention to a task. It the persevering determination to perform a task. It is a diligent effort. From the meanings of diligence stated here, there are three things worth noting about diligence.

Firstly, diligence is about paying proper attention to a task. Secondly, diligence is about persisting to get the task at hand done no matter how hard or difficult the task may be. And lastly, diligence is a diligent effort. That is being hard working. 

With diligence, nothing is impossible. Diligence is the king. When you lack diligence in your day to day actions, you cannot achieve that which you want to achieve. To be establish for real, having diligence in your life is the beginning and end of it all.

Diligence does not focus on impossibilities but on opportunities. As far as diligence is concern, impossibilities of what man can do, does not exist. Only God is the impossibility.

2.     Having a skill or skills: Skill is an ability that has been acquired by training. It is the ability to produce solutions in some problem domain. When you have a skill or skills, you can surmount any challenge, and you will be able to go through your problems. It is your skill or skills that help to establish you. 

Without having a skill or skills, it will be too difficult to get establish, because you cannot be able to solve or find solutions to your problems. Sometimes, people go around their problems because of lack of skills. When you have a skill or skills, you will be able to solve much of your problems, or go through your problems. If you want to be establish for real, learn to have a skill or skills.  

3.     Taking actions or decisions after meditation and discerning: Meditation is a continuous and profound contemplation or musing on a subject or series of subjects of a deep or abstruse nature. Discerning means able to make or detect effects of great subtlety; sensitive.

The failure of most people started when trying to take actions or decisions about their life or what they want to do without making meditation and discerning as part of the process. To take good actions or decisions, meditation and discerning are key elements of the whole processes. It is not just enough to take actions, because, without meditation and discerning, unnecessary mistakes will be much. 

Some decisions or actions are wrong decisions or actions. Because those actions or decisions were taken without meditation and discerning. Thinking deeply before making or taking a decision or an action is a great way to establish yourself for real.  

4.     Do not feast on debt: Feasting is eating an elaborate meal (often accompanied by entertainment). Credit is an arrangement for deferred payment for goods and services. This means the money involved is not paid immediately as at the time the goods and services was bought. Debt is the state of owing something (especially money). It is money or goods or services owed by one person to another. 

Feasting on debt is another action or thing that disestablish people. Feast is meant for anyone who has money at his disposal. He or she has the money on hand. But when you do not have the money on hand and you want to indulge in feasting, is really a foolish thing to do. It is not advisable to borrow money for feasting either. If you must indulge in feasting, at least have the money at hand.

But there are situations where some foolish persons will be feasting on debt. And their debt keep piling or increasing without care. When money eventually come to their hands, the first thing they will be doing is to be struggling to pay their debt.

Feasting on debt discourages saving. Feasting on credit or debt, when the money is not yet on hand, is one of the foolish things, people do daily that disestablished them. If you want to be establish, learn not to feast on credit.

5.     Do not take pleasure in great luxury: Luxury is something that is an indulgence rather than a necessity. It is the quality possessed by something that is excessively expensive. It is wealthy as evidenced by sumptuous living. The first thing here, is that luxury is not a necessity. Secondly, it is about something that is excessively expensive. And thirdly, it marked by sumptuous living. 

This means that anyone whether rich or average or poor can be incline to take pleasure in great luxury. Luxury is something people can do without. It is not a need per say. Taking pleasure in great luxury is so strong that, it will bring you down when you have not done the needful. Some people do not just start taking pleasure in great luxury, they have worked for it and to sustain it, they have paid the price.

But where, you have not worked for it and to sustain it, like the prodigal son. You will get disestablish for real. Taking pleasure in great luxury, is one of the chief thing that cause most people to be disestablished. If you want to be establish for real, learn not to take pleasure in great luxury.     

6.     Being careful and moderate: The term careful here, means being mindful of the future in spending money.  While the word moderate means, marked by avoidance of extravagance or extremes. When you are not careful and moderate in your spending, you will be indulging in spending your money anyhow without carefulness and thoughtfulness. 

Careless spending of money is a big problem in many people lives. You can do well or better, if you learn to be careful and moderate on how you spend your money or income. The inability to be mindful of the future in spending money is one of the thing that is disestablishing many people.

If you want to be establish for real, being careful and moderate about how you spend your money does the magic.   

7.     Postponing your gratification or immediate or temporary pleasure in favor of the long-term gain: Postponing your gratification is a very hard thing to do ordinarily. When you are more incline to gratify your desires, the harder it become to postpone your gratification in favor of the bigger gain in the long-run or in the long-term. 

When you find it too hard to postpone your gratification, you will surely become poorer. The prodigal son is a key example here. He was unable to postpone his gratification. And what happen later, to him? He became poorer than he was before indulging in gratification.

One thing that disestablish people faster is the inability to postpone one’s gratification or temporary pleasure in favor of the long-term gain. To be establish for real, you must learn to postpone your gratification or temporary pleasure in favor of the long –term gain.

8.     Prayer: Prayer is both in words and in actions. It is asking God to do good things in our lives. Like having faith, prayer without work is incomplete prayer or selfish prayer. Prayer goes with actions. That is why, Saint Thomas Moore said, “the thing I prayed for, dear Lord give me the grace to labor for”. 

The two key elements in this success anthem is the thing I prayed for and give me the grace to labor for. We have the verbal prayer and the physical prayer. The verbal prayer must go with the physical prayer to be effective. What establish people is their effective prayer.

9.     Having wisdom: Wisdom is the ability to do the first thing first. It is not common sense nor educational intelligence and it is not a combination of the two. Wisdom comes with the fear of God. The fear of God is the beginning of having wisdom. This means that no one can have real wisdom without the fear of God. What I am saying is that, it is the fear of God that gives one wisdom. 

Most people are not doing the right things because of lack of wisdom in spite of having common sense and educational intelligence. A lack of wisdom is making many people to do the lasting first and the first thing last. It is having wisdom that help you to get establish for real.

10. Planning before acting or taking action: Planning is the cognitive process of thinking about what you will do in the event of something happening. Acting or taking action without planning often do not bring the expected result. 

From the meaning of the word planning given here, planning helps you to know what to do in the event of something happening in the process of taking actions or decisions.

But if you do not plan before hand, in the event of something happening, you will not know what to do. The thing that can establish you for real is planning before taking actions.
