 32 Things That Stop You from Facing Your Deepest Fear: Part 1


Our deepest fear is that we are stronger than we think. We are stronger beyond measure. People fear that they are not strong enough or not good enough, whereas, they are better than they think. In facing our deepest fear, certain things tend to stop us from facing our deepest fear. Thereby, limiting us, from doing what we are capable of doing. Our deepest fear is the strength we have that we think we do not have. Here, are some things that tend to stop us or you from facing your deepest fear:  

1.     Self-doubt: Self-confidence is freedom from doubt; belief in yourself and your abilities.  Self-distrust or self-doubt is lack of self-confidence. It is synonymous with hesitance, hesitancy, unassertiveness, timidity, timidness, timorousness. Doubt is the state of being unsure of something. When you are doubting yourself, you will lose your confidence. When you lose your confidence, you will not be able to do what you can really do.

Doubt or self-doubt weakens your strength both physical and mentally or intellectually. You will end up not being able to resist your resistances or flimsy excuses. When you begin to doubt yourself, you will start to dislike certain things. You will start avoiding certain works. Self-doubt can make you to alter or change your perception about something even when that thing is actually the real or correct or right thing. 

It makes you to see your problems as unwanted evils instead of seeing your problems as necessary evils. You no longer see the problems or difficulties or challenges or duties or responsibilities as necessities that is, things you must do but as things you should avoid. You become incapable of going through your problems rather you take pleasure getting around those problems or duties or responsibilities. Doubting yourself limits you from doing the needful.

Things that you are capable of doing in the first instance, you no longer can do or stand them. It makes you to give in to negative thinking, develop poor attitude, have poor mindset or mentality, and develop faulty imagination, which often give rise to false impossibilities. Self-doubt or self-distrust often, make people to indulge in self-pampering or self-gratification.

The more you are doubting yourself and your abilities, the more you will be doubting your dreams. And the more, you doubt your dreams, the more you detest certain works. Your self-confidence helps you to see your problems or challenges as possibilities because, you have confidence in yourself. Yourself confidence brings out the strengths in you and make you ready to face all you have to face to be able to gain the object in view or crown or throne or your cherished purposes or your dreams.

It is always your choice to either be doubting yourself or to be having confidence in yourself. But the truth is that, you cannot easily gain the object in view or you will never gain the object in view, when you do not have confidence in yourself. Your confidence speak louder in your actions than in your words.  One thing that is preventing or stopping most people from facing or fighting their deepest fear is self-doubt or self-distrust.

Your deepest fear is that you can do all you can do because you are not doubting or distrusting yourself. Your self-doubt will make you not to do it when you get out there. When you are doubting yourself, it will become too difficult to expect more from yourself. Your deepest fear is that you can do more by expecting more from yourself. You can be more to yourself when you are not doubting or distrusting yourself.

2.     Disposition to avoid certain depressing duty or distasteful work: The word disposition means the act or means of getting rid of something. It is an attitude of mind especially one that favors one alternative over others. It is a natural or acquired habit or characteristic tendency in a person or thing. The emphasis here, is the disposition to avoid certain depressing duties or distasteful works.  When this habit dominates the better part of you, each and every time, you come face to face with any duty or work that seems depressing or distasteful, you simply avoid such duty or work. 

The reason why you cannot face your deepest fear is this habit of trying or wanting to dodge or evade or escape from distasteful and unpleasant duty or work that you are supposed to do. Disposition to avoid certain depressing duty or distasteful work is weakening people’s mind and further create fear in people who have this habit.

As long as you are running away from depressing duty or unpleasant work, you will not be able to stand firm and fight your deepest fear. The deepest fear you are trying to avoid is that depressing duty. To be able to fight this deepest fear of yours, you need to have the disposition to action or work. Your disposition to action strengthens your mind and make you ever ready to fight your deepest fear.

3.     Faulty and poor imagination: Imagination is the ability to form mental images of things or events. It is the ability to deal resourcefully with unusual problems. Another area of challenge for most people is the problem of faulty and poor imagination. Our faulty and poor imagination give power to things that we are capable to handle or tackle or solve or deal with and make it hard to actually handle or tackle or solve or deal with such things.

When we ascribe power to what we are more powerful than, then they become power than us. We no longer have the power to face them. Poor imagination is a source of intimidation as well because, we imagine certain things to be more powerful than us. At the end of the day, most people are no longer interested in facing those things. 

Poor and faulty imagination is a contributing factor why people tend to avoid certain of their works or responsibilities. Poor imagination weakens one’s power of action or strength. When we empower things, we begin to fear them as well. Your deepest fear is that you can do more than you are imagine. So, one thing that stop you from fighting your deepest fear is your faulty and poor imagination.

4.     Wrong and weak and soft and poor attitude to work or life: The word attitude means a complex mental state involving beliefs and feelings and values and disposition to act in a certain ways. Our attitude influences us to do things in certain ways. It is often said that, ‘To win, one must have the right attitude’. If you do not have the right attitude you cannot win your battles or wars. When your attitude to life or work is a wrong or weak or soft or poor one, you will not be active to work. 

You will often not do your work well. You will be ignoring some of your duties or responsibilities. It is when you display a winning attitude towards what you must do and should do, that is when you will get it right and do it right. Your right attitude helps you to do and act right. Winning comes when you get it right and do and act right. Most people do not always win their wars because, they are not getting it right and doing it right and acting it right.

One’s poor attitude is strong enough to stop him or her from facing his or her deepest fear.  The poor attitude of people often limit them from doing what they are strong enough to do. Your deepest fear is that you are power beyond description or measure. Wrong and weak and soft and poor attitude is a drawback in your struggle to win the race or the war. Wrong attitude is stopping most people from jumping their hurdles. To be able to win, one must have the right attitude.

5.     Lack of preparing and getting ready for something difficult or unpleasant: Preparing and getting ready for something difficult or unpleasant often strengthens one’s strength and keep the mind stable and steady. The habit of preparing and getting ready for something difficult or unpleasant increases one’s focus and concentration and consecration. In the face of difficulty, instead of evading or running away from such difficulty or unpleasant thing, you will be able to stand and face such difficulty or unpleasant thing. 

But a lack of preparing and getting ready for something difficult or unpleasant, is making most people to avoid such difficulties or unpleasant things. Even when, those things are what they are supposed to and must do. In the face of special difficulty, most people often pull back or desist from attacking or tackling it. When you are well prepared for something difficult or unpleasant, it make you fit to fight your deepest fear.

The reason why some people or most people cannot fight their deepest fear, is lack of preparation for something difficult or unpleasant. Your deepest fear is that, you can do or deal with that difficulty standing on your path to success. Lack of preparation for something difficulty or unpleasant is one of the thing stopping you from facing your deepest fear.

6.     Wavering and indecisions: Wavering is indecision in speech or action. It is uncertain in purpose or action. While indecision is doubt concerning two or more actions. It is the trait of irresolution; it is a lack of firmness of character or purpose. The word uncertain means lacking or indicating lack of confidence or assurance. It is not established beyond doubt; still undecided or unknown. 

When there is wavering and indecision roving within one’s mind, or when the person mind is everywhere, he or she will not be able to make conclusion on what he or she wants to do. The person become unsure of what he or she really wants out of life. When there is indecision in your speech or actions, you will lack the power to take a step in doing certain things. Most people are not always sure or uncertain about what they want to do, when wavering and indecision is ruling over their lives.

Wavering and indecision contributes to inconsistency in character or inconstancy of conduct. People have dreams to chase and to catch but wavering and indecisions is limiting them in chasing and catching such dreams. Most often, people do not know that problems or difficulties are prices to their greatness and are stepping stone to greater things because wavering and indecisions.

When you are undecided about what to do and when to do it, you will lack the power or strength to do that thing. Wavering and indecision very often, is a major source of procrastination. And often, limit people from taking steps or actions in solving their problems. One thing that stop most people from fighting their deepest fear is wavering and indecision. You deepest fear is that you are better than you think or know. To be able to fight your deepest fear, you need unwavering mind to succeed.

7.     Self-indulgence/self-pampering/Pampering/gratification: Pampering is the act of indulging or gratifying a desire. It is gratifying tastes, appetites, or desires. Going by the meaning of pampering here, you can see that, pampering entails pleasing yourself or oneself too unnecessary.

When you are busy trying to gratify a wrong desire or a less important desire, you will tend not to pay attention to the main thing or the important thing. Most times, people make the mistake of making the less important thing or the wrong thing or the unnecessary thing to be the major or main thing or the important thing. And as such, they wrongly go after or chase those things they considered most. When you are pampering yourself or giving in to gratification, you will see problems or difficulties as unwanted evils. 

Pampering or over-pampering or gratification tends to weakens one’s strength both physically and mentally. It also make people to be lazy in doing certain things or works. Self-indulgence or Pampering is one of the reasons why most people do not know that problems or difficulties are prices to their greatness.

It also make people to be lazy in doing certain things or works. Pampering is one of the thing that is making most people not to like the works at the level of their dreams or cherished purpose. Self-indulgence or over-pampering or gratification often blind most people from seeing that difficulties are opportunities for achieving better things. They are stepping stones to greater things.

When over-pampering is dominating your life, you will not be able to fight your deepest fear. So, self-indulgence or over pampering, or pampering or gratification is one thing that is stopping you from fighting your deepest fear. Your deepest fear is that you can bear and feel the pain now and not later.  

8.     Negative thought: Negative thought and thinking of people is hindering them from making the right choices. When your thoughts and thinking, is negative your actions tends to be negative as well. People’s thoughts and thinking often determine their actions. Your thought and thinking can make what is good to be seen as bad and what is bad to be seen as good. The negative thought and thinking of people is intimidating them from doing the things they should do and are capable of doing. Because negative thoughts and thinking creates fear in people. 

Most people do not often think deeply before making their decisions. Negative thought process can block your chances of gaining the throne or the crown. Most people are not willing to pay the price because of their negative thoughts and thinking. The actions of people confirm their thoughts and what they are thinking about. If people dislike the works at the level of their dreams, it is because, they are govern by their negative thoughts and thinking. Our negative thought and thinking gives power to things and thus, become a source of intimidation to us.  

The negative thought of people is making them not to like the works at the level of their dreams and prevents them from doing what they are supposed and should do. It weakens the strength of people. On the other hand, your positive thought makes you stronger and makes you to be ready and willing to face the risk or all that you have to face. Your positive thoughts and thinking helps you to achieve your dreams faster. When your thoughts and thinking is positive, it strengthens your strength and make you bold.

Your negative thought and thinking is one thing that is stopping you from fighting your deepest fear. You deepest fear is that, you can do and face all that you have to do and face because you think you can. To fight your deepest fear, your positive thought and thinking is key in succeeding in the battle.

9.     Wrong confessions: Weak or poor confession is a communication that makes you afraid to try something. It is an intimidation that tend to limit you from trying something. The negative confession of people is intimidating them from doing what they are supposed to do. On daily basis, people confess negatively than positively. When your confession is a negative and weak and poor one, it will affect your actions negatively and thus, weakens your strength. 

Nobody can go or do above his or her confessions. The more people engage in negative and weak and poor confession, the more they avoid their works. And the more they complain. Negative and weak and poor confession is making, people to perform below their capabilities and abilities. It makes people not to have interest in doing certain things or somethings.

The negative and weak and poor confessions of people make them to become lazy in taking actions to solve their problems. Negative and weak and poor confessions are source of distraction. They distract you or people from what they are supposed to do and should do and must do. And make them to pick interest in doing what they are not supposed to do and must not do. Your positive and strong and powerful confessions keeps you focus and strong. And help you to increase your power of actions or strength.

Negative and weak and poor confessions of people is intimidating them and thus, weakening their strength on daily basis. But your positive and strong and powerful confessions are needed for your growth. Positive and strong and powerful confessions increases your power of actions or strengthens your strength. 

It is the way to go in gaining or achieving your cherished desires or purposes. Anything that you set your mind to achieve, positive and strong and powerful confessions becomes the drive which propel you into taking actions needed to achieve that which you have set your mind to achieve. Your deepest fear is that you are unstoppable.

Nothing can stop you but you. You cannot fight your deepest fear when you confession is faulty and negative and weak and poor. You will not be able and capable and fit to fight your deepest fear when you have given in to intimidation coming from you or out of you through your poor confession. When you have confess negatively and poor about it (your duty or work or task or responsibility), you will not do it, because you are intimidated by it. To be able to fight your deepest fear, you need strong and positive daily confession because, success is the sum of daily outcome from daily effort.   

10.  Acceptance of defeat: The word defeat means an unsuccessful ending to a struggle or contest. It the feeling that accompanies an experience of being thwarted in attaining your goals. Acceptance of defeat weakens one’s mind and focus your mind on the defeat. The more you focus your mind on the defeat, the more you avoid making attempt again. And the more you abandon your depressing duties. Defeat is a state of mind.  

The more you abandon your depressing duties, the more distracted you become. Your acceptance of defeat makes you unable and unfit and not capable to tackle your problems any longer. It makes you to pick the interest quitting the struggle or give up the fight. Acceptance of defeat weakens strength. Defeats can be valuable to you, if you learn from them.

On the other hand, the rejection of defeat makes you strong and able and capable and fit to keep fighting and keep struggling until, you achieve your aim or purpose. The more you reject defeat, the more your strength get strengthen.

Acceptance of defeat is one thing that is stopping you from fighting your deepest fear. Your deepest fear is that, you can return a thousand times to the most depressing or most disagreeable or most distasteful duty to get it done. 

11.   Neglect of duty: Neglect means a lack of attention and due care. It is to leave undone or leave out. It is to fail to do something; leave something undone. It is to fail to attend to. It is the trait of neglecting responsibilities and lacking concern. It is to give little or no attention to something. It is the failure to act with the prudence that a reasonable person would exercise under the same circumstances. 

Neglect of duty means a breach of a duty. From the meaning of neglect and neglect of duty given here, it is very convincing that most people do what they most times in regard to how they attend to their works or duties either to be serious or unserious. In most cases, neglect is a strong negative force preventing people from not wanting to inconvenience themselves or trouble themselves or to go the extra-mile to get what they want.  

The attitude of neglecting one’s duties or responsibilities has made many people to develop poor mentality and weak imagination and wrong attitude and wrong perception towards certain works or duties. Neglect weakens strength and promote negative thinking. Most people do not know that problems or difficulties are prices and opportunities to their greatness.  Most often, most people do not get to face and fight their deepest fear because they always take pleasure in neglecting their duties. Your deepest fear is that you can face all you have to face. Face the risk; Face them now. 

12.  Acceptance of fake or self-made impossibilities: False impossibilities are self-made impossibilities or man-made impossibilities. They are not natural impossibilities. In the world only few things are really or actually impossible to man. These real impossibilities can only be solve by God. But the false or self-made impossibilities are not real impossibilities. They are created out of poor imagination of people.

When these false impossibilities are created by faulty or poor imagination, they become additional challenges for the individual who imagine such impossibilities. When the individual accept such impossibilities, by his or her attitude, such impossibilities become real impossibilities to that person. On daily basis, people keep increasing the number of impossibilities in their lives. 

The acceptance of false impossibilities or self-made impossibilities often weakens one’s strength. When you succeed in creating self-made or false impossibilities around your works or duties and then you accept such impossibilities by your attitude, these fake impossibilities begin to discourage and distracting you from what you are supposed to do and must do. But when you reject your self-made impossibilities or false impossibilities, it gives more power to your strength.

The rejection of false impossibilities makes you to be more focus on what you are supposed and must do. This rejection helps to strengthen your strength and make you able to go through your problems and overcome the difficulties on your path to the treasure. When you face difficulties, do not run away from them. Stay and fight them. Face all you have to face. You are able to attain this feet because of your rejection of false impossibilities.

One thing that stop you from fighting your deepest fear is your acceptance of false impossibilities. Your deepest fear is that you can fight your battles. When you have the determination to overcome obstacles you will and you can. And you can succeed as many times as you make up your mind to succeed.
