Why You Should Not Be Interested Feeling only The Benefits But also The Burdens
The truth here is that most people love the benefits but not
the burden. The burden are the pains you are going to feel and bear while doing
all the things that you should do and be doing. Without feeling the burden, you
may also not feel the benefits. The burden and the benefits goes to together. On
a regular basis I have heard of this success anthem which says,”No work; no
food”. It is true that without working for the food, you would not get the
food. The food here is the benefit of the work or the burden. Nobody likes the
burden but the burden has become a necessary evil that you cannot evade or
escape. If you must feel the benefits, prepare to face the burden as well.
Below are some reasons you should not be interested feeling only the benefits
but also the burdens:
1. 1. The benefits go with the burdens: There is nothing worthwhile in life that comes on a plata of gold. It is not easy getting the benefits without the burden. You need to sweat your blood and cry your tears and finish your race to gain the benefits. Your success is always tied to a burden and you must be prepared and ready to engage the burden to gain the benefits.
The problem many people are facing in their lives is that they are only interested feeling only the benefits. This attitude often deviate their minds and attentions to something else. Wanting to feel the benefits without the burden is the chief cause of why most people indulges in doing the lesser things to gain urgent pleasure.
Urgent or immediate or momentary pleasure is what they can achieve in the short-run as they go about trying to feel only the benefits but in the long-term, they experience more pains than gains. If I cannot feel the burden, I should not be talking or thinking of feeling the benefits.
Things do not work like that. On daily basis, most people strive more for urgent pleasure than long-term pleasure. But they think otherwise. Urgent pleasure kills people’s dreams.
2. 2. Only the benefits lead to poverty: Feeling only the benefits is the main problem of people. Little do people know that feeling only the benefits without the burdens lead to poverty? Feeling only the benefits weaken your mind and make your imagination defective or faulty. It makes you to indulge in declination to work, evasion and ignoring and forgetting your responsibilities.
You will find it hard killing yourself to gain the throne. The prodigal son for instance was interested only in the benefits but not the burden at one time of his life. What was the outcome of such attitude? He lost all his wealth and became poorer than he was previously.
3. 3. It brings self-pity: Many people are suffering from the problem of self-pity as a consequence of not wanting to feel the burden. Self-pity is the feeling of sorrow over your own sufferings. Pity or shame is an unfortunate development. It is a reason or cause of pity, grief, or regret; a thing to be regretted.
Here it can be seen that only wanting to feel the benefits outside the burdens brings regrets and griefs and sorrows. Things you should not do in the first place you end updoing them. What you were actually trying to achieve you would not be able to achieve them. By so doing, you give in to self-pity.
4. 4. Loss of peace of mind: The prodigal son increases his sorrows and experience undue sadness he never bargain for directly but he really bargained for it indirectly by his actions. He lose his peace of mind when his actions caused him to become very poor than he ever imagined.
Feeling only the benefits brings urgent pleasure to you but in the long-run, it brings long-term sorrows. These sorrows take away your peace of mind and your sense of belonging.
5. 5. Loss of self-dignity/ loss of self-worth: When the prodigal son was feeling only the benefits with his fake friends, his self-worth was high but he could not sustain or maintained it. He was having many friends at one point in time and at another point in time, he lose all of his friends not even one remain on his side.
What a pity? Anything that can make you poor or poorer than your previous state has a negative effect on your self-dignity. The prodigal son lose his self-worth as a consequence of overpampering or feeling only the benefits.
6. 6. You may lose your freedom: Let’s ponder on the prodigal son again here. While he was enjoying himself or feeling only the benefits, he failed to do things he should be doing. His self-deception blindfolded him from seeing his mistakes. He end up on many occasions doing every other things except or but what he should be doing. His attitude and lifestyle affected him negatively.
He went from grace to grass and lost his freedom. He became a worker to somebody else who is not as richer as he was before then. Feeling only the gains is stronger than you think. It can make you to lose your freedom just like the prodigal son.
7. 7. It encourages procrastination: Feeling only the benefits encourages delay in taken actions that are actually useful to you. You keep delaying until you probably may not get the work done. It encourage people to do the right things at the wrong times.
Procrastination makes people to act very slowly and in some cases not at all in doing the things they should have done. It decreases the chance of feeling the benefits because you are refusing or not willing to pay the price.
Instead of taking interest in doing the things that you should be doing, you will most often indulge in the lesser important things. Most people do not get to achieve their dreams because of procrastinations.
8. 8. Lost of lives: Many people had lost their lives as a result of just wanting to feel or experience only the benefits or gains without the burdens or the pains. The things some people did in the past cost them their lives. Other persons had also lost their lives because of the activities of people who are only interested in feeling only the benefits.
In most cases, from what I have been seeing, feeling only the benefits is really harmful to personal success. Instead of what some people wanted to achieve, they lose their lives. In feeling only the benefits, what are the gains? The gains are short-run pleasures with long-run sorrows.
9. 9. The burden is the mother of the benefits: Before anyone can begin to enjoy the benefits of labor, he or she must first of all meet the mother of the benefits which is the burden. The burden gives birth to the benefits. It precedes the benefits. Until you are ready to attend to the mother, you cannot get the attention of the children.
That is why without the burden, no benefits come. The reason most people do not really get to feel the benefits is that they love dodging the burden. The more you dodge the burden, the more the benefits escape from you.
10. 10. Even God must be pursued to catch Him: If I must pursue or chase God before I can catch Him, how much more my temporary successes? This means that I must chase vigorously my personal success which has to do with facing the risks or paying the price or going through the problems.
To catch the benefits I must make judicious effort to feel the burdens. Since I must chase God to catch Him, likewise I must face the burden to get the benefits. If you think that it is too difficult God to pursue God, then forget feeling the benefits. The benefits is only meant for those who feel the burdens.
11. 11. To avoid stagnation or stagnancy: The body of water that is not moving is said to be stagnant. When you are not flowing, you are stagnant. Today is your day to flow. But your flowing can be affected negatively by what you are doing. Your negative or wrong actions, your procrastination, your dodging of your responsibilities, your going after the less important things and running after illusions all affect your flowing.
To flow, you must make up your mind to do the things you should do and must do. Until you are ready to flow, you will remain stagnant. The habit of feeling only the benefits draws you backward. The burden is necessary to feel the benefits.
12. 12. You may not get your priority right: Every person has and have various wants and needs but how you do and go about achieving them will be based on your scale of preference. Feeling only the benefits without the burden will make you not to be able to get or set your priority right.
When your priority is wrong, you will end up pursuing the wrong things. Most often, the cause of why people do not get to achieve their goals or purposes is that they set wrong priority scale for themselves. If you are not yet ready to feel the burden, your priority scale will always be wrong.
13. 13. It pulls you our of the right path: When you are on the right path going, when your mind start shaking or wavering, indecisions set in and you become confused on what to do. This leads you to make wrong choices or decisions. By so doing, you move from the right path to a path that makes you feel comfortable and happy.
Because you do not know where you are going to or heading to and you follow the wrong road or path, you will arrive nowhere even though you are running well. The wrong path will not help you to really feel the benefits in the lon-term.
The sorrow that follows the habit of not wanting to feel the burdens but only the benefits sometimes, last one whole life. This negative habit of feeling only the benefits is indeed success killer.
It is good to feel the burden just as it is
good to feel the benefits. Do not just kill yourself only to feel the benefits
but also take the interest to kill yourself to feel the burden. The burdens sustains
the benefits.
