9 Grounds Why and Why You Should Stop Telling People That They Are Ugly
Man is an image of God. That is he is beautifully created or
made. And when God saw what He had made, God
saw that he was good. The term
good here, means beautiful, elegant, handsome, angelic, divine, amazing,
wonderful, great, unstoppable and the likes. But it is like man is not satisfy
with his look. He wants something better. The irony here is that man cannot and
can never made or create himself. Since man cannot create himself, he has no
right to condemn what God made or create. Below are some grounds why and why
you should stop telling people that they are ugly:
1- 1. Every human being or man is an image of God: It has been said and confirmed that man was and he is the image of the unseen God. Each of us is beautiful in his or her own way. The truth is that the physical body attraction is confusing most people. Yes some people have high attraction than others. Some people are tall while some others are not. Some people are fat or plump while some others are slim. Some are fair in their complexions while some are dark in their complexions.
Man have several physical features which can make one person more attractive or beautiful than the others. But no one person is ugly. Based on physical attraction man is not ugly despite the features he have. If man is ugly then God is ugly. Any time you look at some body and you say this person is ugly, you are indirectly saying that God who created or made man in His own image is an ugly God. You are not your creator and so are other people. So since you can never create yourself, stop telling or calling people that they are ugly.
2- 2. Physical attraction or physical beauty fades: It is a fact that physical beauty fades with age. This is the natural process but there are other things that can affect the physical attraction of a person. This can be physical injuries or body harms caused by accidents, fights and other emergencies. But our concern is more with the fading by natural processes of ageing. If physical beauty is fading why bragging or boastful about it. The only thing that does not fade but appreciate is one’s attitude. In respective of one’s age, attitude does not fades. If you must brag, brag with your attitude because in the long-run or term, it is attitude that count and not physical beauty.
3- 3. Attitude is the king: A critical look at the power of physical beauty verse the power of attitude, you will find out or discover that physical beauty even though is highly valued in our world, cannot save you who possesses it. But the one thing that can save you is your great attitude. Because your attitude can save you that is why attitude is called the king. When you stand before the Great God or Judge, what will and can save you is not that which fades but that which appreciates. And that which appreciates is your attitude. Anything that can save you is really your king. So if you must celebrate, celebrate your attitude and not that which fade away like the smoke (physical beauty).
4- 4. White teeth; black heart: This is an adage that confirmed that physical beauty is only skin-deep. The white teeth in this adage represent your physical beauty or attraction and the black heart is your dirty heart or attitude. You are physically beautiful but your heart is dirty or black or bad. The heart is used to express your attitude. If your attitude is black or bad then you are really uglier than you think.
Attitude speak louder than physical beauty. One’s beauty is made up of the inner beauty or attitude and the physical beauty. The larger part of one’s beauty is domicile in attitude. If you must call or tell people that they are ugly, use their attitude and not their physical beauty. Real beauty or ugliness lies in one’s attitude or heart. Using only the physical beauty to call or tell people that they are beautiful is like giving honor to people who do not really or actually merit it.
5- 5. You cannot remake yourself or create someone: If you were given the opportunity by God to remake or recreate yourself, or to create someone the way you like, you will definitely get bored with yourself. Why will you get bored? Because when you remake yourself and come out, you will still meet some people who are more beautiful than you and you will be wondering how manage? The truth is that no matter how you will try others are there also trying to surpass you as well. You will never be satisfy with yourself. And at the end you will become bored and sad and dejected by the singular act of wanting to remake or recreate yourself or physical beauty. If you have a good eyesight and a good hearing why not thank God for that and stop telling people that they are ugly.
6- 6. Physical beauty or attraction is just only one item of endowment: There are several other items of endowment in each of us apart from the physical attraction, they are attitude, talents, knowledge, understanding and other skills. If people do not like you because of your physical beauty, what about your attitude, talents, knowledge, understanding and skills? You can see that there are several things people can use to like someone else even more than physical attraction. If you must like others do not solely depend on their physical attraction for you may regret later. Why not use their attitude?
7- 7. Discovering, developing and using one’s talents is not based on one’s physical attraction: It is true that some people have high physical attraction than some others. But to discover, develop, and use one’s talents is not based on the physical attraction or physical beauty of person. It is not written anywhere that if you are more beautiful than other people you will discover your talent, develop it and use it faster than them.
Being ugly physically wise cannot stop you from using your talents. Talents is not subjected to physical beauty. Using one’s talents has nothing to do with whether you are beautiful or not. Talents are gift of God in us to discover, develop and use to uplift yourself and others. Nothing can stop you from using your talents except you.
8- 8. Some people are beautiful but they are not neat: Being beautiful is one thing and being neat is another thing entirely. The term neat refers to excellent in character, skill, or performance, etc.; nice; finished; adroit. It means very good. It is free from clumsiness; precisely or deftly executed. It means clean or orderly. It also refers to showing care in execution. It is being free from that which soils, defiles, or disorders; clean; cleanly; tidy. It is pleasing with simplicity; tasteful; chaste.
Beautiful on the other hand means the qualities which constitute beauty; pleasing to the sight or the mind. It refers to handsome, fair, fine, elegant, graceful, and beauteous. when you compare the two terms side by side, you will discovered that being neat is more preferable to just being physically beautiful. Somebody can be beautiful physically but he or she is not very good, orderly or chaste. Some people are beautiful and yet they are lazy. Being neat is more adorable than physical attractions. Just imagine a lazy person calling another person ugly. Is not funny?
9- 9. No one is ugly: It is said that no one is ugly. It all depend on self-maintenance. One key factor which promote physical beauty is self-maintenance. Maintenance is that which maintains or support; means of sustenance; supply of necessaries and conveniences. When you are maintaining yourself by how good you are, how orderly are you, how chaste are you, how clean and tidy are you, nobody will see you as ugly. The way you maintain yourself bring out your beauty more. No matter the level of your beauty, maintenance is the key. Maintenance is the activity involved in maintaining something in good working order or condition.
Before telling people that they are ugly, it
better you ponder for a while. You might even be uglier than they do.
