This makes them not to be able to cope with their duties or responsibilities. Stupidity or lack wisdom draws people backward and hinder them from going forward in their lives. The lack of wisdom or foolishness is a feature of doubt in people who are always busy doing the things they should not be doing. Foolishness causes people to indulge in foolish activities which will not profit them much. Those who lack wisdom always doubt themselves.

It is the act of binding yourself intellectually and emotionally to a course of action. Consecration and commitment are features of having faith in yourself. From the meaning of the words consecration and commitment one thing that is sure is the emphasis on cherished purpose and fixity of purpose.

Our attention is drawn to following your dreams. The action of following your dreams is the exhibition of faith. But the inability to follow your dreams is the exhibition of your doubt. So, loss of consecration is doubt in oneself or yourself. You are doubting yourself that is why you are experiencing loss of consecration towards your cherished purpose or highest desire or dreams.

Your performance will be low when you uphold low ideals and high when you uphold high ideals. High ideals uplift those who uphold them. Your actions move in line with the ideals you uphold.

Upholding low ideals is self-doubting or loss of faith. While upholding high ideals is self-confidence or believing in yourself or faith. Having strong guiding principles or rule of conducts is an exhibition of faith or self-trust. While having weak guiding principles or rules of conduct is an exhibition of self-doubting or doubt or loss of faith. Upholding and practicing of weak rules of conduct are series of distractions.

11    10.  Too much depending on other people for survival or solution: We all in one way or the other depend on other for one thing or the other. No body have it all. But the emphasis here is on the too much depending on other people to solve all your problems. When you too much depend on people for solutions to all your problem or for all you need, you will begin to lose your competency. But when you are able to stand for yourself, you are able to improve on your competency and self-confidence. Too depending on other people for all your solutions and survival is a characteristic of self-doubt or doubt or lack of faith or confidence.

11  11. Pessimistic/depressed/uncheerful/gloomy/sad: The term pessimistic means expecting the worst in this worst of all possible worlds. Gloomy is being characterized by hopelessness; filled with gloom. The terms depressing, uncheerful, sad are negative terms. They express sorrow and negativism. Being pessimistic is to be without hope. It is your choice to be pessimistic, depressed, uncheerful, gloomy, dejected, dispirited, despondent, or sad.  These words focus on loss of hope. They are distractions. They distract your attentions to something less important.

You stop doing the things you are supposed to do or be doing. Anything that distract your attention to something less important is a function of doubt or self-doubt or loss of faith. So, being pessimistic is an exhibition of your doubt. Sometimes, some people are sad because they are doubting themselves.

12  12. You are busy counting other people blessing: Some people are always interested in counting other people blessing. They behave in a way as if God is not blessing them at all. They focus their mind on this action of counting other people blessing. Thereby leading to jealousy and anger and hatred. People who are busy counting other people’s blessing are seriously exhibiting or showcasing their self-doubting or doubt or loss of faith.

People should learn to busy themselves counting their own blessing. By so doing, they will increase their own confidence or faith in themselves and in God. The truth is that you cannot have faith in God when you do not have faith in yourself. The more you are busy counting other people blessing, the more you will be doubting yourself.

1    13. Avoiding the risk by relegating your duty to the back or bottom and bringing your pleasure to the foremost or front or first: One success principle emphasized that duty should come first, and thereafter comes the pleasure. But on the contrary, most people prefer the soft principle that that lay emphasis on enjoying yourself first, ‘enjoy yourself nothing spoil’. This is a very wrong principle of success. There is no way you can enjoy yourself successfully and nothing will spoil.  Many things will spoil if you are enjoying yourself without doing the things you should be doing or you should do.

The key rule here is that your duty must come first before any other things will follow. But where pleasure is placed before your duty, then many things are going to get spoil on the way. The attitude of putting your duty or work first before your pleasure or enjoyment is an attribute or quality of self-confidence or self-trust or self-belief or faith.

Relegating your duty or work to the bottom is a misplacement of priority. But when you make your enjoyment or pleasure as the foremost on your list, and you are busy chasing it, you are foolishly exhibiting the quality of self-doubt or doubt or weak faith or loss of faith. The truth here is that it is your duty or work that will sustain or prolong your pleasure or enjoyment.

1    14. Giving less to gain the treasure: All success rules demand the giving of the best, be it time, effort, strength, intelligence, attention, commitment, persisting, sincerity of purpose, and your life into the actual things or works or duties or responsibilities you should be doing be it simple or difficult. Some of the success principles here are; give in the best into every works, simple or difficult; pay proper (full or complete) and concentrated attention to a task; give the best to gain the best; kill yourself or labor yourself or take pains or be at pains or inconvenience yourself or extend yourself or go the extra-mile and bring into your works all (full or complete) your intelligence and strength.

But on the negative side, some people prefer giving divided attention to a task, some people are not interested in killing themselves to gain the treasure, some people are more concern with or think in terms of just how little can I give to gain the object in view?. That is why, they ignore and forget their duties, evade or dodge certain works, neglect their duties or fail to perform such duties and complain unnecessary while doing or carrying out their tasks or duties or works.

There are other people who love to go round their problems rather going through. It give them pleasure doing so. On this negative side, what people are exhibiting is their doubt but on the positive side, people exhibit their faith.

1    15. Impatient: Impatient means not patient; not bearing with composure; intolerant; uneasy; fretful; restless, because of pain, delay, or opposition; eager for change or for something expected; hasty; passionate. The act of doing things in hasty or hastily and rashly without reflection and thoughtfulness has cost a lot of harm.

Impatient makes people’s mind to be unstable and unsteady. It often leads people to make wrong decisions and choices. There were people who were following their dreams at a particular time or point but later change from following their dreams and started chasing something else. When you lose your patient, you become impatient. By being impatient, you are exhibiting your doubt in yourself and in your aspirations and dreams.

1    16. Desperation and discouragement: The term desperation is a state in which everything seems wrong, and will turn out badly. It is desperate recklessness. It is the act of despairing or becoming desperate; a giving up of hope. It also a state of despair, or utter hopeless; abandonment of hope; extreme recklessness; reckless fury.

On the other hand, discouragement is the act of discouraging, or the state of being discouraged; depression or weakening of confidence; dejection. It is that which discourages; that which deters, or tends to deter, from an undertaking, or from the prosecution of anything; a determent. It is the feeling of despair in the face of obstacles.

Both desperation and discouragement are negative terms. They direct one’s mind into giving up on hope, on their dreams and on themselves. They cause you to lose your happiness. Anytime you are influence and govern by desperation and discouragement, you will stop doing the things that you should do or be doing. They are exhibition of doubt.

17  17. Chasing corrupt desires and less important things: Most often, it is very difficult for people to chase their cherished desires but find it very easy to chase, or pursue their corrupt desires. People go after their corrupt desires because the activities are pleasant and enjoyable by them. While the activities that are tied to their dreams are not pleasant and enjoyable. They are very depressing and distasteful. So they avoid these activities.

The corrupt desires of people are quite different from their highest purpose or cherished desire. Chasing after one’s corrupt desires or passions and pushing aside one’s dream or highest purpose is a manifestation or exhibition of doubt in oneself and in what you should do or be doing.

Most people are busy chasing their corrupt interests and less important things instead of chasing their dreams. This means that they are doubting themselves that is why they find it difficult chasing their dreams. Follow your dreams, they know the path but your corrupt desires and less important things do not know the way.People doubt themselves in so many ways unknowingly to them.

The above seventeen ways are some of the ways people doubt themselves. Study them so that you can take precaution. It is good to know whether your actions are self-doubting and self-defeating. So that you do something positive about them.
