20 Different Ways One Can Cope or Handle Tough Times or Adversity or Hard knocks or Hardship Part 1

 



It is often said, that tough time do not last but tough people do. Tough times are periods in our lives which cause more pains than we actually bargained for. When we are faced with tough times or when we find ourselves in hard or difficult situations, the tendency to lose hope is every high because, it looks as if nothing is really working and everything is working against us. When these tough times last longer than normal or usual, we tend to give in to undue sadness, self-distrust or lack of faith. We also tend to lose our self-esteem and as such, we live with disturbed mind.  We are weigh down by several problems which often take away people peace of mind and increases the stress factors. Many people has at one time or the other experienced or encounter hardship while many others are facing it now. But the truth about these tough times is that not everyone can handle it. Here are what people can do to cope with tough times in their lives or in one’s life.

1.       1. Be calm: Control your negative emotions because you can lose you’re your mind and thus, your mind becomes unstable. When you are not calm, the tendency to lose your peace of mind is real. And when you lose your peace, frustration will set in. when you are calm, your mind becomes steadier. You are able to take meaningful decisions that can affect your life positively. Being calm help a lot of people to take control of their lives.

2.       2. Find solutions to your problems: You find solutions to your problems by tackling or dealing with the problems but when you are avoiding the problems, you will not be able to find solutions to the problems. To be able to cope with tough times, you do not need to avoid your problems what you really need is to face the challenge by dealing with the problem as soon as the rise. If you cannot find solution to the problem at hand then, you would not be able to cope with tough time.

3.       3. Trust yourself to win: Believe in yourself that you are going to win the situation. Have confidence that you are equal to the task. Believing in yourself helps you to stay focus and stay on course.it help you increase your tempo to deal with the ugly times. Not trusting yourself to win can bring about low self- esteem and despondent. There is no way you will doubt yourself into defeat and then win. Trusting yourself to win improves your confidence or faith in what you want to achieve. It strength your hope and make you to throw in the best that you can give into your work. This is why those who trust themselves into winning win more and those who doubt them lose more.

4.       4. Be objective about the situation: In the face of tough times, there are certain goals that are intended to be achieved and are belief to be attainable. Your goal is to overcome and win the hard times and by how can you achieve this. It is by facing the risks or paying the price or by standing by the task or work at hand or assigned. You can only overcome the challenges when you are busy doing the thing you are supposed to be doing or that is required of you.

5.       5. Be optimistic: It is always good to be optimistic in any given situation we find ourselves. Keep the hope going is the clarion call. Being optimistic helps you to go the extra mile to handle the situation. But when you are not optimistic, you easily tend to give in to undue sadness and the tendency to give up is very high. Being optimistic also helps you to stay calm and more focus on what to do to solve the problem at hand. When you are optimistic you are able to cope well with the tough times. Both the optimistic and the pessimistic individuals are right. It is your choice to choose who you want to be.

6.       6. Keep putting joy into your work: It is true that in the face of difficult situations, we tend to become sad but when you are aware of the fact that you are in a battle with those tough times it energizes you to put joy into your work. If you cannot put joy into your work, you may end up not doing the work properly or at all and then every other negative things will start creeping into your mind and thus, affecting your actions negatively. Keep putting pleasure or happiness into your work is critical way of coping with tough times or hardship or hard knocks.

7.       7. Stay strong: It is very easy to become disorganized when you are experiencing tough times. That is why staying strong helps you to not get disorganized. When you are disorganized, you will end up not doing the things you ought to do properly or in the way it should be done or executed. Not staying strong can demoralized you and weakens your self-confidence. It further kills one’s happiness. So, when you stay strong, it is good for you because the ugly situations cannot temper with your happiness and peace of mind. Thus, helping you to stay organized to tackle the problems or difficulties.

8.       8. Be encouraged by keep doing your best: In the face of hard times, people affected tend to lower their effort or time they give or put in their work and this further compound their problems. Only your best effort is good enough to solve the problem. That is why, it is said, that into every work simple or difficult, one should throw in the best. To get the best result, you must give in the best effort. So, it is what you give that you will receive.

9.       9. Do not submit or give in to self-pity: Self-pity is a common thing that tends to raise its ugly head anytime people are facing challenges or tough times. Self-pity is capable of rendering you hopeless and faithless. Undue sadness or sorrow can be overwhelming. Self-pity kills your ability to think properly. Instead of giving in to self-pity, allow your happiness and self-trust to dominate you. By so doing, you can be able to surmount these tough times faster.  

10.   10. Preparing to meet the unexpected: To be able to cope adequately with tough times, an individual should and must prepared to face the unpleasant situations. Failure to prepare to meet the unexpected, often leads to giving up on ones dreams. When you have prepare to meet unexpected things, you will no longer get worry because you are already prepare for the situations like that. Prepared if bitten or bidden, to return a thousand times to the most disagreeable or most depressing or most distasteful duty. It is only those who have prepared that can achieve this feet.
